More often than not, personal injury claims involve assault claims, defective product incidents, road traffic accidents, and holiday accidents. There are many personal injury claims that may be filed against businesses, however, and these run the gamut from accidents at work and accidents caused by defective products to industrial disease types that may be attributable to work conditions. Industrial type diseases that have been subject to litigation in the past include chest diseases, occupational stress or deafness, repetitive strain injury, contact dermititus, asbestosis, and mesothelioma. Often, when a personal injury claim is filed against corporations, the structured settlement comes into play.
